Martín Palermo
Martín Palermo es un exfutbolista y actual entrenador argentino. Actualmente dirige a Curicó Unido de la Primera División de Chile. Debutó en Estudiantes de La Plata en 1992 y su último equipo fue Boca Juniors, en donde se convirtió en unos de los históricos del club, además de ser su máximo goleador, con 236 tantos logrados en competencias oficiales. Cuando se retiró como futbolista profesional, el club xeneize le regaló un arco para homenajearlo. Es considerado uno de los máximos ídolos de la historia de Boca Juniors.
Steve Palermo
Stephen Michael Palermo was an umpire in Major League Baseball who worked in the American League from 1977 to 1991. His field career ended when he was shot in the back following his decision to intervene and apprehend the assailants in an altercation outside Campisi's, a Dallas Italian restaurant. He wore uniform number 14 when the American League began using uniform numbers for its umpires in 1980, and the number was never reassigned to another AL umpire until after the AL and NL umpire staffs were unified by MLB in 2000.

Léa Palermo is a French badminton player. She started playing badminton at aged 8, then joined the France national badminton team in 2006. In 2009, she won the bronze medal at the European U17 Badminton Championships in the mixed doubles event. In 2010, she competed at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. In 2015, she won the Slovenia International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Bastian Kersaudy. In 2016, she won French National Badminton Championships in women's doubles event. She also the runner-up at the Orleans International in the women's doubles event and at the Estonian International in the mixed doubles event. In 2017, she became the runner-up at the Estonian International partnered with Delphine Delrue. She competed at the 2018 Mediterranean Games, clinched the women's doubles gold with Delrue.

Saint Mamilian (Mamilianus) of Palermo, who is venerated with Nympha (Ninfa), Eustotius (Eustozio), Proculus, and Golbodeus , was a bishop of Palermo of the fifth century. Mamilian lived in Sicily at a time when the Vandals dominated the island. He served as bishop of Palermo but was exiled to Africa by the Vandals, who adhered to Arianism, around 450 AD with some Christian companions. One source states that Mamilian was exiled to Tuscany by Genseric, the Vandal king.
